BIOGRAPHY

"Dr Sutton is accountable to the Chief of Cyber, Intelligence and National Security and the Defence Intelligence Innovation, Science, Technology and Development Steering Group for the leadership and success of the Intelligence Innovation, Science and Technology (IS&T) Program. Dr Sutton started as Program Leader Intelligence on 01 July 2022, working with Defence Intelligence Group stakeholders to develop a program to achieve Assured Decision Advantage, while continuing to deliver existing activities supporting the Defence Intelligence Enterprise. Dr Sutton was previously Research Leader Space Intelligence and Research Leader Imaging Systems. He has also fulfilled strategic policy, engagement and representational roles including 2016 Defence White Paper Specialist Adviser; Attaché Defence Science (Washington); and Navy Scientific Adviser. Dr Sutton received a CDS Gold Commendation and a Secretary of Defence / Chief of the Defence Force Commendation for his contributions to the 2016 White Paper. Dr Sutton has a Bachelor of Science with Honours and a Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Science from the Australian National University." "

PRESENTATION SUMMARY

Speaking in the 'Research and Innovation' plenary, Darren will be joining the 'What's the role of government in responding and enabling emerging trends?' panel alongside Lisa Bush, Branch Head, Place and Communities Division, Geoscience Australia and Robert Tugen, A/g Director, Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO). The session will be mediated by Elizabeth Pearce from the Australian Space Agency
