Mr Dave Gerner

Dave is the Program Manager of Regional Innovation with Wine Australia, the regulatory body for the wine sector. With a background in environmental management and spatial information science, Dave has a passion for innovative solutions that create sustainable futures for agriculture. Dave’s previous roles have seen him work across large and small businesses, and government, developing and implementing digital mapping solutions that support sustainable businesses, people and planet. In 2016 Dave spoke alongside ESRI’s founder and CEO Jack Dangermond at the Sydney Opera House, discussing how Australia’s largest wine producer - Treasury Wine Estates - had developed and implemented spatial technologies to support numerous aspects of their business, from water and land management, crop monitoring, vehicle optimisation, and safe guarding their workforce. In his own words Dave now has the privileged position of extending this work across the entire wine sector in Australia, and is excited to be working to secure the future of Australian agriculture.
